A wireless version of Nexon's side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game MapleStory is now available in the United States from AT&T's Media Mall. AT&T is the first wireless carrier in the United States to carry the game.
The original PC version of MapleStory boasts 92 million users worldwide. The PC edition of MapleStory is free to download and play, with optional content available via microtransaction purchases.
The wireless adaptation of MapleStory contains content that links both versions of the game. Players who purchase the wireless version of MapleStory will receive a bonus gift item for use in the MapleStory PC game.
"We're excited to deliver one of the largest MMORPG franchises in the world first to one of the largest carriers in the world," said Kyu Lee, president of MapleStory's U.S. publisher, Gamevil USA. "Combining subscribers from the PC and wireless will create a great synergy effect."
