Resistor Productions today announced that its critically acclaimed online battle and strategy game Disciple, the company’s first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), is now available as a Facebook application, along with a Facebook Connect implementation on the Disciple site.

The Disciple Facebook application lets players enjoy the Disciple game on Facebook exactly like the original game that has captured more than 38,000 active users since its launch in May. Disciple players can challenge their Facebook friends to battles, post victories to their News Feed, and strategize over chat with their friends as they face-off in Disciple’s virtual world – playing gamers on the Disciple site with Facebook Connect or with the application on Facebook.

The Disciple Facebook application is designed to give Facebook users access to the fully-animated game, providing them an unprecedented, graphically rich gaming experience without the location confines of client games, with access to their friends for more exciting play. Additionally, when Facebook users log-in to Disciple with Facebook Connect, they are able to publish their actions back onto Facebook, which enables them to share more information with their friends than ever before.

“We have heard a lot of interest from our players in having the Disciple game available as a Facebook application and through Facebook Connect to better sync up with others and play in ‘one big sandbox,’” said Tobias Batton, founder and CEO of Resistor Productions. “The Disciple application brings to Facebook Platform an exciting game, much like Mafia Wars, but with a story line of brutal battles, fantasy and strategy, and with rich graphics beyond mere text. We are happy to expand the Disciple game’s offering to the more than 200 million active users of Facebook across the world.”

Disciple is free-to-play and is delivered entirely over web browser, with no software or download requirements. Players can purchase enhanced play content and options within the game via microtransactions or with a small subscription fee. Additionally, Disciple now provides enhanced flexible pay options via Offerpal survey offerings. Players can also invite other Facebook users to join the Disciple game for in-game currency earnings.
